The dashboard attracts an average of 1.2 billion views per day. It is an exemplar of the benefits of open data – and how quickly it can be deployed to good effect when the will is there. The central government has recently issued a master plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area development to spur growth in Hong Kong, Macao and nine cities in Guangdong province including Guangzhou and Shenzhen — China’s Silicon Valley.
